“Texas is the brightest star in the Firmament of Liberty among all of the United States of America. Because it was the Republic of Texas, the Lone Star stands eternally for rebellion against tyranny and injustice. The story of the heroes who made Texas a Bastion of Freedom means a great deal to me; to think that I was born in Texas, and that my heritage is so inspiring, thrills me every day of my life!” - Michael Martin Murphey, Western Singer-Songwriter
